Goodbye 91 Melrose

Well although we don't leave until Sunday I am posting this now before the phone and internet get turned off.
Farewell to our home of 5 years. Here we have experienced many highs and lows; great flatmates, crazy flatmates, broken boilers, yummy BBQ's, no washing machine for a couple of months, bayliffs, sunny backyard, elderly neighbour trying to burn their house down smoking crafty ciggies in the upstairs bedroom... just to name a few.

Packing Nightmare

Well after saying our goodbyes on Friday to our workmates we have now started the soul-destroying task of packing up all of our stuff.
A quick recap of last week; numerous farewell lunches and drinks, not to mention a few tears - not just from us, and some lovely gifts and messages from our work colleagues.
Saturday saw us start to pack but we just manged the one box. Sunday we had a BBQ for a few friends and watched the England v Ecuador match which saw England progress to the Quarter Finals.
Today we are still going through the mountain of belongings we have accumulated over the 6 years. There are times it feels like we are making progress and other times it feels there is still a long way to go. But it all has to be done by the weekend, we fly out on Sunday morning.
PS Wimbledon Tennis started today, so true to form here in blighty - its raining out...

Starting At The End

Well I guess there is no better place to start this than when everything that has become a way of life for the past 6 years is coming to an end.
Today was the first day of our last week at work. Craig has been at Credit Suisse for his entire working career in England, despite having resigned at least 3 times in the first 2 years. But it has been possible for him to stay here because of their sponsorship which was brilliant. Suz has worked for the last 5 years at Linkaters. We have both had fantastic experiences there and made some great friends. It is also wierd to think they are the places we have spent longer working for than anywhere else.

Our flatmates for the last 3 years, Daniel & Tabitha moved out a couple of weekends ago to begin their new life down in Surrey. We are really disappointed we are missing their wedding in July but hopefully we will stay with them in September and they will come out to NZ to visit us.
Suz went to Tab's Hen's Night on Saturday and a great night was had by all.

Craig spent Saturday, after watching the AB's beat Ireland, down in Brighton with Sam, Simon, Jabba and Brad playing paintball and enjoying a lovely summers day, downing a few pints.
Sunday was spent recovering and watching Australia v Brazil in the Football World Cup which has taken England by storm.
